We travelled to Linklaters’ stylish UK headquarters opposite the Barbican Centre in EC1 to make a Podcast Recording for one of our regular clients. Big Data is always a very popular topic and this meant it was a full house in the conference room.
No lectern was in place, so the four panel members chose to walk around the top tables as they presented. The room was relatively quite in comparison to a lot of office spaces where we work, and we didn’t want to interfere with the flow of the event, so the choice of two DPA 4060 microphones with special boundary attachments placed on the edges of the two top tables was the best choice. A 20 metre cable run wasn’t too bad to get us to the back of the room where our recording kit was situated. The 2 hour seminar comprised of the four presentations, followed by a ‘scenarios’ session and a Q&A session at the end. For legal reasons, the last two of these sessions weren’t recorded.
In the studio next morning, we set down to the Post Production, and in a few hours everything was edited, de-noised and uploaded as MP3s to our cloud storage ready for the client. Thanks to Carolyn and Geoff at Linklaters for making our technician most welcome.
